In 2005, Joshua helped to pioneer the first national residential solar leasing company in the U.S., marking the beginning of his active involvement in climate, renewable energy, and sustainability advocacy both domestically and globally.
Building Brighter, a non-profit initiative launched by Joshua in 2015, is dedicated to creating sustainable housing solutions for low-income and homeless individuals through the construction of tiny homes and micro-apartment retro-fits, with active projects in New England and in the Southeastern U.S.
Joshua played a pivotal role in mobilizing veterans from New England in 2016 to support the Standing Rock Sioux Nation’s water protectors, an effort that contributed to a crucial environmental victory.
2019 saw Joshua at the helm of Ocean State Community Energy, crafting a visionary proposal for Rhode Island’s transition to a net-zero carbon future, a blueprint that helped to guide the state’s net zero environmental strategy.
His co-founding of his current company, New Paradigm Energy, underscores his commitment to facilitating energy transitions for businesses and municipalities through a comprehensive suite of solutions encompassing efficiency, generation, storage, and smart micro-grid technologies.
As a recognized Climate Reality Leader since 2015, Joshua’s dedication to environmental advocacy was honored in 2017 with the prestigious Green Ring Award by former Vice-President Al Gore, acknowledging his exceptional contributions to tackling the climate crisis.
